Investor Relations

Acquisition History 2000

In 2000, TD Bank Group (TD) was focused on building scale; to continue on current momentum, TD purchased two self-directed brokers in the U.K. The acquisition of Newcrest Capital Inc., gave institutional equities and investment banking businesses a strong competitive platform in Canada. In addition, the purchase of Canada Life’s property and casualty insurance business made TD’s Meloche Monnex the second largest direct response property and casualty insurer in the country. TD also launched Europe’s first comprehensive offshore fund supermarket through Internaxx, our joint venture with Banque Générale du Luxembourg.
